INDEPENDENT PRODUCT STUDY
Calibre is a powerful e‑book management tool, but its swiss‑army‑knife approach creates a dense and often cumbersome experience.
An exploration of how Calibre’s core library experience could be simplified around the needs of everyday e-reader users. I interviewed friends and family who regularly use e-readers, identified the workflows that mattered most to them, then redesigned the experience around finding, filtering, selecting and managing books.
OUTCOME
A simplified product direction, component system and high‑fidelity prototype focused on the workflows most relevant to everyday e‑reader users. The project also became a way to explore faster approaches to prototyping and interaction design.
